"By the time you and I are done chatting tonight, about 5 kids in this country will have contemplated taking their own life," says Chasten Buttigieg, Pete Buttigieg's husband, while interviewing with CNN correspondents.
"That is why I believe we need to pass the Equality Act so that every vulnerable child in this country can look to Washington, and know that they are safe, that they are supported."
We need the Equality Act to help protect LGBTQ+ individuals against hateful discrimination on the simple basis that they are being their selves. I am confident that as a Commonwealth we are better than that. I have seen firsthand the "southern charm" we possess here, and I know we will rise to the occasion. Let's do this together!
