The Feeling of Inclusion

As a teacher, I know that it is crucial that children feel safe, seen, and not in isolation. I can attest that it is important to teach LGBTQ+ topics in our education system for by teaching those topics it can give the children a sense of unity. At a time, a confusing time, such as when one is seeking their identity, it can be life-saving for them to hear history with people like them. To show them that they are not alone; that there are other people who feel the same way, and that they are not abnormal. It will serve to de-mystify an otherwise confusing time for a child. Together we can make life better for our children. Let's do this together!
